< 1 min read

Choosing the right dinnerware material affects durability, appearance, and cost. This comparison helps you decide between stoneware, porcelain, and bone china.

Gres #

Stoneware is fired at high temperatures (1200-1300°C), making it extremely durable and chip-resistant. It has a rustic, earthy appearance and excellent heat retention. Most commercial restaurant dinnerware is stoneware due to its durability and value.

Porcelana #

Porcelain is fired at even higher temperatures (1300-1400°C), creating a non-porous, translucent body. It has a refined appearance and is suitable for upscale dining. Porcelain is more expensive than stoneware but offers superior whiteness and durability.

Porcelana de hueso #

Bone china contains bone ash (typically 30-50%), giving it exceptional whiteness and translucency. It’s the most expensive option and is lighter than both stoneware and porcelain. Bone china is popular for luxury hotel dining and premium retail.
