What ships inside the case
A portable tea set is a system, and the parts have to agree with each other. The version we ship most is a 350 ml or 400 ml teapot, two 60 ml cups or four 45 ml cups, an optional fair cup, and a case. Packed, it measures 19 by 13 by 9 cm and weighs 0.95 to 1.15 kg.
Wall thickness runs 3.5 to 4.5 mm and the rim is ground flat to 2.5 mm so the lid seals without a gasket. Capacity is worth checking against the number of drinkers: a 350 ml pot pours four 60 ml cups after the leaf absorbs roughly 15 ml, which is why a two-cup set and a four-cup set can share the same pot.
The three numbers that decide breakage
Travel sets break in transit, not in use, so the case matters more than the clay. An EVA hard shell passes a 1.2 m drop onto concrete; a PU leather pouch survives 0.6 m at best. A 2.2 mm cup wall chips on the same drop that leaves a 3 mm wall intact.
Cartons repeat the pattern. Twelve sets fill a master of 0.055 cubic metres at 14 kg gross, and on a courier network the hard shell version returns 0.8 percent breakage against 3.5 percent for the pouch version. The 0.55 per set you save on the pouch is spent three times over on replacements.
MOQ, samples and lead time
Minimum order is 300 sets per colour, or 500 if you want a custom mould. A sample takes 7 to 10 days and costs 35 to 60 dollars, refundable against the order. Production runs 25 to 30 days, then 30 to 38 days by sea to Europe or the US.
Decoration is priced separately: laser engraving on the lid is 0.18 per set at 500 pieces, a fired decal is 0.25. Both survive dishwashing at 60 degrees for 500 cycles, which is the test most gift buyers ask for.

How to test a sample in ten minutes
Four checks settle whether a travel set is worth reordering. Fill the pot with boiling water, close the lid, invert it for 30 seconds: any seep at the rim means the ground edge is out of flat. Pour into a cup from 10 cm height and watch the stream: a spout that dribbles was cut too wide or glazed inside.
Then stack the set in its case and drop the case from 1.2 m onto concrete, corner first. Open it and check the cup rim, not the body. Finally, weigh the packed case: anything above 1.15 kg stops being a travel product and becomes a gift box.
